her hijab is beautiful
her hair is covered, her head held high,
standing tall with beauty and grace.
she knows she is stronger than they think,
see the light that shines from her face.
the silk cloth placed on her head signifies
peace,
it serves as reminder to behave with dignity.
through the act of modesty, she finds
ultimate serenity.
she is not oppressed, unintelligent or
unworthy,
she is powerful, liberated and free.
not just a piece of clothing but a way of
life,
teaches her to remain humble, to be just
and to be kind.
this girl is empowered, she is tougher than
they see.
“i will not let my hijab define how they
treat me!”
refuses to surrender to society’s norms on ordinary
life,
she believes her view on religion doesn’t change
what’s inside.
full of passion, full of intelligence, she
is brave, she is bright.
look into her eyes and her mind and you
will find,
a queen, her thoughts sparkle like silver
and gold,
they contain an astounding brilliance
waiting to unfold.
her faith in God remains strong, it’s only
Him she really needs.
when you look at how she’s presented, you’ll
understand what i mean.
her hijab is a constant symbol of courage, piety
and tranquillity.
know that it isn’t there to impress a misogynistic
man,
not an act of terror, nor one of subjugation,
that you need to ban.
she refuses to let them win, she won’t go
down without a fight,
they must understand that covering her head
is a God given right!
she is a woman of resilience, a woman of
might,
her heart is so warm, so pure and with good
intentions.
she strives for the best, patiently takes
her test,
has time for her Lord, has time for prayer
and reflection.
so, remember this next time you think
wrongly.
she wears a hijab for herself and she wears it beautifully.
