DEAR WORLD,

My name is Aya, I am 12 and live in Palestine.

My parents were killed by a bomb this time.

Now an orphan, I am alone with nobody to hold.

I want to scream and I want to shout but no noise comes out.

My country is at war, I need everyone to listen!

Broken homes, terrified children and endless demolition.

We are struggling to sleep, we are struggling to breathe.

Our attackers do not leave, this war just does not cease.

I call on God in times like these, May He bring my country peace.

My name is Uthmaan from Syria and I am only 8.

They burn houses down and spread terror in this place.

I have constant fear in my chest, it just won’t rest.

My mother says this is a test, I know she is trying her best,

But there is constant violence, constant hate.

My country is dying, us children are crying.

Please stop your killings and put down your guns

and stop this war that you begun!

Please help me, I just want to be free.

My name is Dina from Afghanistan and I am 11.

I believe my father died and went straight to heaven.

My uncle said the Americans kill just because they can,

They drop bombs, send air strikes, it’s all part of their plan.

Innocent lives being ripped and torn apart,

Broken families and broken hearts.

Why can’t you see that my country bleeds!

Understand it is freedom we need!

I pray for comfort. I pray for justice. I pray for ease.

My name is Rana, I am 13 and live in India.

Today was hard for me, I need you to listen carefully.

I have no home, I have no food and I have no family.

These slums are unclean, filled with decay and disease.

Children cry and babies scream.

This is life for people living in extreme poverty.

My aunty died of HIV and my sister died that same day.

I don’t want the same for me, I refuse to die in that way!

I have hope for a better life, I just want to survive.

My name is Musa from Bangladesh and I am 14.

My village was flooded by the cyclone last month,

Our home completely destroyed, now we have nowhere to sleep.

I am desperately trying to make ends meet.

My mother is too ill to work so it is all down to me.

Please hear my plea, understand we don’t have much money.

I don’t know how we will live or how we will eat.

Now can you see how hard life has become for me.

I know God has His hand on me, all I pray for is relief.

My name is Hibaaq, I am 15 and live in Yemen.

I am angry that nobody sees what happens in my country.

We are suffering from starvation and extreme malnutrition,

My brother is dying from disease, he urgently needs treatment.

Can you hear me scream, can you hear me shout?

I am praying this humanitarian crisis is finally spoken about!

Living in dangerous conditions just isn’t fair,

This constant hunger is becoming too difficult for us to bear.

We need help, we need aid. We need you to care.

My name is Imaan, I am 16 and live in China.

I have something important to say, my father was murdered today.

My people are being beaten, tortured and raped.

The government lock us away and we cannot escape.

Imprisoned and forced to comply with their heinous decisions.

Do you know they force us to abandon our religion.

I haven’t seen my mother for days, don’t know if she is okay.

I refuse to lose hope so I cup my hands together and pray.

WE ARE YOUR CHILDREN IN NEED OF YOUR PROTECTION.

OUR COUNTRIES GO THROUGH WAR, FAMINE AND CONSTANT DESTRUCTION.

HUMANITY’S CRUELEST CRIMINALS HAVE OUR BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS!

WE WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING, WE WILL CONTINUE TO STAND.

WE KNOW THROUGH THE DARKNESS, LIGHT WILL EVENTUALLY COME.

WE KNOW THAT GOD IS ALWAYS WATCHING OVER US.

HE KNOWS THE PAIN WE KEEP INSIDE, HE SEES EVERY TEAR

AND HE HEARS EVERY SINGLE CRY.

HE WILL DEAL WITH THE WICKED AND THEY’LL GET THEIR SENTENCE.

SAY OUR NAMES. TELL OUR STORIES.

ONE DAY WE WILL GAIN GLORY.

YOURS SINCERELY,

PALESTINE, AFGHANISTAN AND INDIA.

YEMEN, BANGLADESH, CHINA AND SYRIA.
